converting from auto to manual trans

I heisted this pic from the internet. But I can confirm this to be correct for a G body, cause I just had my ST-10 out. The funny shape works with the lower pivot ball to clear the floorpan. If you had the dimensions, I'm sure a straight one could be modified. It is important that you keep the three points inline. That would be the TO bearing, pivot ball, and linkage attachment point.

You have to use a clutch fork for a G-Body. Any bell housing for big-n-small chevy works. Your stock auto trans, crossmember works with a manual trans. There is a inset dimple on the firewall that marks where to drill hole for pedal to z-bar rod. All G-Bodies have a pre-drilled hole on outside of frame rail for the z-bar bracket. Use self tapping screws for it. As far as a hole for your shifter. Take shifter handle off of shifter mechanism. Leave mechanism bolted to trans. Bolt trans to engine & raise with a floor jack until it hits the trans tunnel. Scribe a reference mark & start cutting. Good luck........

The bell housing and clutch fork are G body specific. I believe that the bellhousing number ends in 606. and the clutch fork has a bend in it that is only used on the G body. As far as I know they are not reproduced. On some other sites I seen that they used a lakewood bellhousing and then fabbed up a clutch fork. If you can locate a good used bellhousing and clutch fork you will be ahead of the game.

The crossmember is the same as a TH350 which is not the same as a 200-4r. Also you will need the yoke from the standard transmission put on your drive shaft. The length of the transmission should be the same so you shouldn't need to shorten the driveshaft.

You will also need a 153 tooth flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Also a starter for a 153 tooth flywheel.

You can get them on Ebay.
