converting to dual electric fans from fan clutch

Here is what i am working for on my Wagon.

The plate fits right into the groove in the stock shroud.

The fan is a 16+ inch Derale puller that will be mounted to the inside of the plate.

The hole is offset so there are no clearance issues with the waterpump pulley.

The little blue box is where the relay will be mounted.

I mocked it up and hooked up a battery charger to test.

The seal is so good it was hard to pick it up off the floor due to the suction!

On the race car, it has a double unit from an mid 80 GM FWD.

The lower mounts lined right up to exiting holes in the rad support. I did use spacers, old endlink bushings, on the bottom.

The top was drilled and bolted to small brackets. Needed a slight trim too.

I may not have had to do extra work, I am using a larger aftermarket rad in the race, to make it fit if the rad was stock.?

The lack of a shroud may hurt the performance especially at idle. A quick check would be to fire them up and take a small square of paper and place it in several sections and see if it sucks up.

I agree about a shroud, but these work for me

They have been keeping a 625 horse motor nice and cool. I made sure the side were sealed so there is no pull around and added a full length chin spoiler.

I use a string to test, if I get near the front bumper it sucks the spring
horizonal!

I also have fabbed a set of aluminum fillers for the gap between the rad and the header to seal it even more.

The upper one is for a street car and also will be sealed nice and tight.

I think alot of cooling issue are not the rad or fan but "air management".

A little tin and foam tape go a long way to keeping cars cool.

sounds like you've got it covered, as long as you can limit or stop the air around the radiator like it sounds, that pretty much is a shroud.
