So, I hate cordless stuff because of the battery issues, but do have to admit they can come in handy. I had an older B&D 18V, but the battery no longer was servicable. To be honest, it didn't get used a lot because every time I wanted to use it, the battery was dead. And I was told not to leave the battery on the charger all the time. I believe it was a Ni-Cad.

So, what does everyone like for occasional use in a cordless. I use pneumatic at work and in the shop, so I'm mostly interested in homeowner-type stuff...curtain rods, appliance assembly and the like.

I'd like to buy something decent, but it doesn't have to be contractor daily use good...if that makes sense. Remember, every dollar spent on cordless tools is one less dollar for car parts.

The 20volt LITHIUM dewalts I have never go dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your old one is probably an NiCad = garbage

These new Lithium tools are awesome, 90% time now I only I use my compressor it is to fill tires or for a blow gun.

The other 10% would be for painting

I like my 18v Bosch...

my wife has a lithium ryobi
i like my 12 volt lithium dewalt with two batteries. super light, easy on the tennis elbow and fits in small places. and battery recharges before the other one dies.

My daughter got me a Makita dill/driver kit many years ago. I don't know how I got along without it all those years. I got her a newer kit this year. The batteries are much better than what I got. But I was able to get some new stronger ones on Fleabay for a good drice. They interchange easily. 1580605782479.png

I recently got a brushless DeWalt with Lithium Ion battery. Can't go wrong with that stuff. I had a NiCad 18V DeWalt that the brushes fried and gobbed up the commutator basically rendering the tool useless. Couldn't get brushes for that model but got new motor for 25 bucks. Runs like a new one again.

Cordless tools are getting better all the time and they're super handy.

I use dewalt at work and home and there pretty durable. I dropped my impact off a 2 story roof. My battery goes dead after a solid 2hrs of work but mine are 4 yrs and 1.5 ah battery. When these die im buying makita. The dewalt charger has went out 2x and a few guys at work have had makitas and haven't replaced anything. In my experience cheap impacts are trash but i use them all day every day.
