could i use engine enamel on my frame?

would it hold up, i was planning to use a rust converter, then hitting that with enamel rather than rubberized coating.
 
You can but powdercoating is best way to go , I can't say I went that route I used hammertone paint on mine and it's legit on the top of the frame spray on bedliner and the rest hammertone including the inside what I could get.
 
Por-15 would work well. Its a tough coating that you brush on.
