steubenville, oh
first, i'm working with an 82 cutlass brougham 4 door.

i'd like to change a few things, if possible.

first, i don't like the way the bumpers stick out past the fenders an quarters. is this a trait specific to 4 door models? is it possible to put the flush mount front and rear bumpers on?

second, i don't like the grille on the front. it's the big one piece grill that says "brougham." is it possible to swap that one for the split grilles with the filler in between?

last, i don't like the tail lights. they are the 9-square version, and i find them quite horrendous. will any other tail lights swap over?

that's it, for now. if it will help to get pics, i will

All four doors are like that, as well as all wagons, and 78-80 two doors.
Rear, no. Front, you'd have to change the whole front clip to one from an '81-up two door (header panel, hood, fenders, bumper and bumper cover).

Yes, a '78-'80 header panel would work. If you wanted an '81-up nose, you'd have to change the entire front clip.

There are several different styles, and any other taillight from a four door Cutlass sedan should work, but make sure you get the lens and the bezel. Just figure out which year you like best. ('85s are nice looking)

wow, good info. thank you

i suppose if i get bores i can make fiberglass bumpers that sit flush against the fenders. other than that, it seems i can fix whaht i don't like

The 81-88 2dr cars use different fender lines and wheel openings than the 4dr cars and wagons. The front clip may bolt up, but the fenders won't line up.
