I'm assuming the rear diff should be changed? I had a 87 cutlass with the 307 and that diff granaded twice doing doughnuts

I don't know how you did that.....we ran a metric circle track car with the 7.5 rear end with a 602 crate and never had a problem with it...in fact none of the field ever blew up a 7.5 diff for the last couple of years....last year we had to cut a tube after the rear end got bent smacking the wall and we couldn't get the axle out cause of the bent tube....we transplanted the carrier into another housing and went racing that nite.....

I'm more curious as to how he was able to get a 307 Cutlass to do donuts...

it's called sanding the parking lot LOL take 2 bags of sand and dump all over a parking lot so the tires will actually spin and presto! That car could also do some pretty good brakestands 🙂

Question, mullet wheels? Because of the white lettering? lol

I actually like the look of them, to each their own.

Well, because of the jacked up stance required to make them not rub and they are too wide to tuck.

With such a mild motor, 18s, and a 7.5 its obviously a street car. No need for the th400. Why not just do a good rebuild on the 200-4R. Not as strong but a better transmission all the way around for how you are going to use it. Affords better gearing better mileage less power loss lower rpm cruising.

I am happy to hear that the mullet wheels no longer reside on your GP! They look a bit...umm...dated in the pics...lol

you say dated, i say Classic. 😀 😛

I just got it out of storage on saturday! yee haa! my list of things to do are :

1.First the rear frame rails need changing (ordered new ones, should be here next week, fixed next week)

2.Get the exhaust fixed (headers) and change the tips.

3.Paint the inner gun metal gray parts of the rims black.

4. Some new springs front and back. Probably the moog ones alot of the people are putting on the g-bodys but I don't know if there is a better choice yet.

As for the transmission, The turbo 400 is brand new that I got for nothing for doing some paint work for a guy. The 350 won't be in till July and all the work is getting done for free. (again paint work for a guy)
I may not swap but as of right now, I won't and sell the 400 and use the money for some parts and a shift kit for the 200-4r. I dunno yet. I also might be getting a 383 stroker with 440hp (guys owes me money) so until I know how it's gonna play out the 400 would be used with the 383.

I'll have some pics up soon with the new rims this week when I get my camera back 🙂

Just to chime in. If you're looking for nice wheels that will fit our GPs, take a look at Billet Specialties. They will custom make the inserts and the wheels will then fit without mods.
