Does anyone know of a place that sells a cowl hood for the third gen montes?

With my 383 in there the stock hood will not be able to close. so i need teh extra cowl space.

Ive looked around with no luck, and if i cant find one, i will just weld one on to my hood, but i want that as a last option, because im sure when i smooth it out, it will crack eventually...

I feel your pain my big block the intake mainfold is dead even with the underside of the hood and with the holley carb and 3 inch air cleaner i'm way above the hood, i fit barely with a 3inch cowl hood.
you can also get one from VFN also for alitlle bit cheaper. Stay away from Showcars Fiberglass out of Ontario Canada. the hood i got for my 78 from them sucks mucho!!! i will be geting a new one from VFN this spring.

Did you try a drop base for your airfilter. I have a 388 and a K&N 3" filter on mine with a drop base on it.

It would be cheaper than a hood.
