cracked fly wheel ?

Does anyone know what a cracked or broken fly wheel would sound like.i'm chasing a sound that i can't seem to find.One it could be the starter or maybe the fly wheel.The sound goes along with the rpm when the motor is on a load,just cruising can't seem to hear it.

just remove the inspection cover and take a look at the flexplate with a flashlite. ..

It can make a knocking type of sound. Bad thing is that can mean 100 different things to a 100 different people. 🙂

well i think i found the problem.shimmed the crap out of the starter. :shock:

I had a cracked one and it made a slight knock, didnt really change on acceleration, but it got louder when the motor decelerated.
