tightened all my belts on the 305 h.o. bec they were squeaking, the only belt that kept squeaking was the power steering belt that ran from the a/c to the power steering and water pump. but it isthe power steering that's creaking. I dnot really have alot of time to work on my car since I work 5 days a week and go to school full time so I used that belt dressing to see It cal eliminate the squeak until I have time to replace the belt(it's a little glazed). and at idle it sounded fine but when I hit the gas it started to creak alot, will changing the belts eliminate the creak? could it be the pulley? the pump? thanks for any responses.

check to see if the pulleys are lined up, your bracket may be bent causing the squeek. i have the same thing is happening to my alternader.

Mine was having an issue with the p/s pump always squealing too. Finally someone noticed that the pully on my pump had to much movement (front to back, about 1.4"). Haven't got the new pump mounted yet to see if it fixes it. But maybe check yours for movement. Just grab it with one hand and see how much play it has.
