crossmember

my question got overlooked im sure so here it is again, I had it posted under my airshock question, it still rattles a bit on the crossmember and im told that only .5 inches of space can be made if I have them notch it. Barely enough to waste 70 dollars of welding on. What and where is the cheapest crossmember that I can buy for a Th200 transmission or whatever its called.

thanks, yeah ill buying it then in a few days. I take it will bolt up to the Th200 transmission no problem then, ill be putting a 350 with a better transmission in soon too. WIll it still bolt up good I hope?

Yes it will, they are the same cross members.

you could cut a whole section out of the stock one and weld something flat across the top

THAT would be the cheapest way.

I notched mine using a cutoff wheel and then i welded in 1/4in. steel and its looks plenty strong. If you access to a welder and some steel its pretty cheap here are some pics.....

It took about a hour to fab and weld. I even got paid to do mine at work. :lol:
