This relates to the s550 rebuild that has its own thread, BUT, I need opinions....
So, the dashboard has a bunch of trim inserts that are removable, one of which has a small plaque inset from the factory. (Pictured Below)
I've actually purchased a complete second set of this dash trim to customize so I can save the originals. My plan all along was to have a custom emblem made up to put in place of the existing plaque, but, I have too many ideas what to put. I'll need to remove the old plaque because it has a raised point on it as coming off a 50th anniv car (the picture is her existing one, not the replacement) whereas hers is a 2016.
I want to keep a mustang emblem of some sort to the left. But I dont know whether to use that plain running pony pictured or the fancier one over the tribar.
Where it says "Mustang" now in caps I want it to read "Cobalt" because that is what she named her car.
But where it says "since 1964" I've got a few options.... the car was built in fall of 2015. I could mimic this and use a 'since 2015' built or 'since 2016' model year... I could also go since mm/dd/year of either manufacture or purchase. I am somewhat concerned with it looking too cluttered or too small....
I've also seen older plaques on cars that say "owner:" with the name in it somewhere, that could be interesting although maybe questionable in the world of people taking identity info and such... not sure.
The MOST important part is getting the cobalt name on there... beyond that I haven't even begun trying to figure out who to have make it or what to have made. pre-adhesive vs no adhesive, things of that nature,
These are the important things (haha) that we brainstormed about while I was on the table for this morning's procedure. Just one of the many customizations I plan on doing to her car all at the same time without her knowledge.
If anyone has ordered anything like that personally with good results let me know too. I'm going to spend some time poking around but real verified transaction experiences kind of carry a bit more weight in my opinion,
