I had an '87, but my fave had to be the '86 Salon/442. The black grilles for that year look mean. If I were you, I'd go that route.

so i am getting nowhere lol. its like a 50/50 split kind like me. i like the older one but i really want composite headlights so i think i am going to start experementing. the 87/88 euro header looks awesome but EVERYONE seems to have them on their cutlass and i would rather be unique and convert my header. i will post pics when i get time to work on it, at the rate i am going i wil post pics in a year lol.

keep the opinions coming though

I'm a fan of the old style lights. I just picked up a nice '85 Supreme and don't plan on changing it.

A cheaper way to have the best of both worlds would be to use '87-'90 Chevy celebrity composite lamps on the '81-'86 nose.

The Celebrity composite lamps are almost a perfect replacement since the transition from '86 to '87 was just the headlights. I had seen some in an '82-'87 Malibu/Elco header panel and it looked stock.

Might be worth a look.
