i lost the link a while back, it was a guy on this site who did stages of a 442 restoration in his garage.

he jacked the body up with pressure treated 4x4 and rolled the frame out.

i forgot the link, anyone?

I know exactly what yopu are talking about, but I never saved the link. That had a ton of very useful info and pictures though. I would like to know that link too

I don't think it's you Craig.

If I remember correctly, the guy had tons of pages of pics and explanations. I think his was the blue/silver 442 with t-tops. he got way into it, he sent the whole body out to get blasted, like crazy restoration. If we are thinking of the same thing, Coveted, thats what I remember, but I'm not sure if were thinking of the same car/restoration. Don't mind me

Thanks. I wasnt sure after Matts post. lol

I tried to document everything as well as possible. Not just for me, but for anyone who is trying to do stuff to their cars. My documentation of the fuel and brake lines have helped a few people I know out.

Thanks for the kudos. 😀 Makes me feel that it was worth it in the end. 🙂

DAAAAAMN!!! That build-up was badass! It gives me inspiration to make me want to go do the same for mine. But seeing as doing a engine swap is taking forever it will have to wait for that.. But good job it looks awesome.I really liked the detailed chassis.

lol,

Thanks. Yeah, doing something like this is not for the faint of heart. Took me 20 months from start to finish.

Many many days I would walk out to the garage, see the pile of parts and car dissasembled and walk back in the house. Almost gave up a couple of times out of frustration. Had to force myself to work on it to make progress.

This is something a lot of people start, but never finish. Taking it apart is easy, getting it back together is the hard part.

My advice to anyone who wants to do this, Think really hard. Wait. Then think really hard again.

Once you start, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Put each part in a plastic zip bags, and label the bag before you take the next part off. Keep everything in empty beer cases to stay organized. Without doing that, I would have never gotten it done. STAY ORGANIZED!!!

I did have a lot of fun out there by myself though, drinking beer, listening to music and wrenching away. I would probably do it again. Maybe....lol

No prob. Most people miss that link at the top of my page that takes you to the rebuild pages. Maybe I need to redo the main page?
