I have a 83 4door cutlass... 350 motor and transmission. I've recently had the transmission rebuilt, complete tune up with everything from plug wires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter,I had the valve cover gaskets done, exhaust gaskets done, new heavy duty cooling radiator, new water pump, replaced some hoses, new radiator cap,new thermostat. At one time my car never overheated, but it started happening often so that's why I had things dealing with the water and cooling changed. For some reason when I run my a/c it will run hot. Like after I turn my engine off u can hear it like hiss and bubble and my overflow container will be filled past the hot line.... Also when its really hot outside like today I had my Windows down no a/c on but it was really hot outside. I made it home cut the engine off and it sputtered so I raised up the hood and that overflow bottle was to the top past the hot line again. Sometimes it does this sometimes it doesn't. It hasn't been doing it as much since I changed these things but I'm wondering what else could be wrong to make this happen? Any ideas? getting so frustrated I'm about ready to sell it but I love my old school car. Helppp
Also when I installed the new radiator we used the Orange coolant. But it overheated the coolant in the overflow container is Orange but in the radiator its green? Also I haven't noticed milky oil that makes me think its the head.

If you replaced the water pump and radiator and I assume they changed the thermostat to the only thing left would be the clutch fan. to check if its bad I always get one sheet of a news paper roll it up the slowly insert it into the fan while car is on. If the fan stop just cause of that it might be faulty.

Or just warm up the engine to normal temps then turn off the car if the clutch fan wants to keep turning after engine is off its a sign its bad.

I assume that new water pump is a rebuilt, I bought a rebuilt pump that had the wrong impeller in it so it wasn't pushing any fluid. The motor always ran hot till I figured it out.

Did you install a transmission cooler? If not, did u just hook the transmission lines up to the new radiator? A transmission cooler would help a lot along with a 160 degree thermostat.

Also is it normal to feel a good amount of heat on the driver said.. I tend to feel a lot of heat down by my feet when I'm driving, usual let's me know its probably about to run hot
