oldsmobilecutlass

Not-quite-so-new-guy
Im looking at this cutlass with a chevy 350 :? and turbo 400. If I was to get it I would want to swap that out for a 403 olds and a 200R4. How tough would this swap be and parts would I need to buy, how much am I looking at spending not including the motor and trans? Any info you can give would be appreciated Thanks in advance.

The swap would be very easy and cheap because you can get all the pieces you need from the boneyard. A complete set of brackets and pullys from any Olds 307 should be easy and cheap to find. You'll need the engine frame mounts from an old G-Body Cutlass ( I'm not sure B-Body ones are the same ). Your wiring under the hood is most likely all buggered up too. You can nab an entire engine harness ( the harness that plugs into the firewall under the master cylinder ) off any G-Body with Olds 307. People are always parting these cars on this forum, so you might find everything you need right here. Total cost will depend on too many factors so it's kinda hard to guess. Maybe $200 or so?

P.S. The transmission crossmember for the 400 should be the same for the 2004r. Not sure about driveshaft length, but a driveshaft from any G-Body that came with a 2004r would work.
