Could I confidently reuse my 1977 SB Buick 350 torque to yeild head bolts? They seemed in OK condition when removed for disassembly. I think engine Was around 100k miles. bores of cylinders were mirror smooth and shiny. So, can/should I reuse them? If not, could I use ARP or where can I get factory replacements? Engine is bored 30 over mild cam and two barrel.

I suppose one could clean them up and use them again for a low hp motor without issue.

But the ARP's are like cheap insurance to me. Well, not really "cheap" but you know what I mean.

I don't think that engine used torque to yield head bolts. And not all bolts used when an angular torque value is given are torque to yield bolts.
With head bolts, main cap bolts, rod bolts, flywheel/flexplate bolts and torque converter bolts I always check them closely, consider their age and consider their future use. After 38 years though I would invest in some new bolts. ARP would be my choice over Chinese imports from a parts store.

Well, this was a while ago. I went with ARP head studs. Worked good, and look cool.
