hello all I was wondering if it would be worth trying to restore my cylinder heads on my small block Buick 350.they aren't warped or cracked they are just really dirty and fairly carboned up. would I be able to clean them up a bit by washing them in the correct way and using something akin to a brass wire wheel or brush and solvent to get the carbon off and then blowing it out instead of having to pay my local machine shop $300 to do it for me. it's not going to be a high performance build by any means I'm expecting expecting around 250 horsepower maximum at the flywheel.

And of course after all that will be new valve spings, valves lapped, and so on.

I'd bring the heads to a machine shop to have the heads cleaned in a hot tank.....it should only be about $10 to $15 per head
