I'm in Mesa, Arizona. We get up to over 110 in the summer, and below 40 in the winter. Cars get put through a ton of heat stress here. Tires and batteries get changed out like a teenage girl changes her outfits
 
I'm in South Florida. Not sure what you want to hook the coolant ports up to but myself and everybody I know just blocks them off. They are just there to add sensors or senders. Never had problems overheating in 100 degree weather. Professional products and a few others make similar intakes to Edelbrock for half the price that work exactly the same.
 
Just to be clear I meant ditch the edelbrock carb. They don't mix well with huge cams and highly advanced timing. Great carbs for stock or mild builds. My opinion. Go with a Holley or quick fuel.
