Dana 60 and Brakes

I ordered the Wilwood kit and bolted it up this weekend. Everything fit with no problem. The only hiccup was with Wilwood's "rotor registration ring" which is an aluminum ring w/ ID and OD measurements that is supposed to occupy the very small space between the axle and the rotor to ensure that there is no play. Both of these rings cracked and split when the rotor was mounted and lugs were finger tightened down. It was then that I noticed that the rings sent were for a 2.802 diameter and the diameter of the axle is 2.802. A quick call to Wilwood today and I learned that the rotor registration ring is not necessary if you are running 1/2 inch studs (which I am). Any minor play in the rotor, up, down, left or right will be canceled out once the wheel is mounted and the lugs are socked down.

The best part about this kit is it bolted right up with no fitment issues whatsoever. I did not have to relocate the lower shock mount, like some other kits and manufacturers wanted me to do. Wilwood makes some quality parts too. Their packaging is great, everything comes out of the box explicitly labeled and marked accordingly along with easy to follow and easy to understand instructions.

Update -

Shortly after I made my last post, someone from Wilwood Customer Service called me back about the registration ring issue. Long story short, they're sending me the correct size rings and paying for 3 day shipping so it gets here by the weekend. Awesome. This thing might actually go down the road and STOP this weekend. But I'm not holding my breath.

Car is on the road and has been since I last posted. I uploaded some new pictures in the gallery of the Dana 60 (S60 from Strange Engineering). The Wilwood disc brake kit that I linked earlier in this thread bolted up right out of the box.
