I have a 82 buick and the dash has cracks and the foam is showing.I was going to get the abs dash covers that lay over the original dash but they only make them for monties. So has anyone patched and repainted the dash? If so what products did you use thanks.

i have heard of people using bondo to fix cracked dashes. i'm not saying its the right thing to do or even saying if it works worth a damn but i guess it could be dont. who knows how well it would work/ last though

I just finished installing a new dash in my cutlass that had a badly cracked one. Unfortunatley you I don't think you can do much about a badly cracked dash. Once they've cracked they are dried out and are rotting from the inside. you could patch it up and paint it but It will just be a matter of time before it happens again. Better off finding a new one and painting it to match. As Blake442 said, SEM is the way to go. If you can find your paint color name or the code on your build sheet you can call them and they'll be able to give you a matching SEM paint code. Then go to a paint mixing shop give them the SEM code and they can make up a spray can.

could always wrap it with some fake leather looking vynl. -->

the dash will come out pretty easy too, so look around for a nice one and switch them out. 😀
