Dash related questions

Hi everyone. New member here with some '79 Buick Regal questions. I had no luck using the search, so here goes. I'm sure someone here must have the answers.
I need to replace a dash in an A/C equipped 2 door '79 Regal, and need to know what other years can be used. I have my eye on a nice 83 (4 door) dash, and I'm aware of the small cosmetic differences.
What I'm not sure about is if my 79 gauges and controls will fit into the cluster area, and if it will bolt in the same. I can get everything behind the dash, what in particular might be different?
Also, does anyone sell reproduction gauge and radio face surrounds, the ones with wood grain?
Lastly, any GOOD vendors for G Body parts?

Welcome! The dash from the 83 would be a direct bolt in to your 79, as you said there is some minor cosmetic differences. You will need to reuse your , gauges and wiring on the 83 dash, and optional the gauge surround. After removing the gauges and surround off the 83 dash there is a black panel that the gauges sit in that can be slid out the back of the dash. You will likely need to remove the wiring from the back of the dash to get that black panel to come out.
Nobody is repoping the woodgrain gauge bezel so that would have to be a salvage yard piece unless you can have somebody make a decal to fit the bezel. Other interior parts can come from 78-87 2 door Regals except for the side panel around the quarter windows, that would be 78-80 only.
