Took a trip to a few wrecking yards today, and ran in to a few good finds. The problem is, do i need them lol.

The first find was an 81 gp that seam to have stamp steel inner fender wells.it also had some sort of brace tha was attached to the core support.
Here's a pic ;

If those aluminum drums are turnable, there's people that will pay decent money for them on the GN boards.

Man, I wish I could drive down there and visit my buddy in LA, and pick up that aluminum hood for my wagon while I'm there!

I know what you mean blake, cause i would hate to see that hood go to waist. My first impulse was, get it get it. But then i got thinking, here i go buying parts and i havent even finish my bu.

I was thinking of oicking up the drums for my self, but didn't know if they fit my Malibu.

Yes they will.

I went back to the yard on monday, and picked up the Alum drums. As much as i wanted to get the hood, i didn't have the money or way of taking it home. I took a second look at the build sheet, and realized it also had the alum bumper supports VD6 and VD7

However, i did score a trailer hitch that i took of the yellow Lemans.

Here is a picture of the build sheet;

Purely speculation, but based on this and my own car, I'd bet that many of the cars that got any aluminum goodies got ALL the aluminum goodies. I can't wait to get the interior out of mine and find the build sheet.

How come i never run into the cool stuff :shock: I keep on hoping of running across another 8.5in rear :lol: I went this weekend and came across a 87 GP and pulled of a clean header panel w headlight trim, front left bumper filler, Grill, Switches, & 3rd brake light. .Some fender braces off a 79 Monte Carlo that extend from the cowl to the core support. Also some braces off a 78-80 Cutlass that bolt on from the sides to the fenders to the core support. Figures they don't work on my car :x though. But i did have a good day yesterday!

Why wouldn't they work?
