Well, I have been on the look-out for a good G-body for a little while, found these three, seem like good cars, just not sure which one to pursue. If I were home I would check them all out first, but I'm deployed to Iraq at the moment, so I'll have to have my Dad check them out. But with hunting season and the holidays coming up I'm sure he going to be a little busy so I don't want to send him to check them all out. Which one do you guys think would be the best buy?

1982 Monte Carlo
66,000 original miles +/-
V6 Auto
“Adult Driven. There are no problems with the car that we are aware of. The title is clean. The car has minor scrapes and dings that would be pretty normal for a car of this age. I don't know of any rust anywhere.”
$4,200 obo

1985 Monte Carlo
96,000 miles
V6 Auto
“We are the original owners of the car. No rust on the car what so ever. Even under the car is as clean as a whistle. It has been very well taken care of and garage kept since 1985.”
$4,500

1985 Cutlass
46,200 miles
V6 Auto
“My parents bought brand new. It is in very good condition. Interior is nearly perfect. Runs and drives like new. No rust to mention (very little on the inside bottom of the doors where the weep holes are). No body damage other than a couple of paint scratches on the trunk. Issues with car are: Valve cover gaskets need replaced, AC needs charged, carb needs the idle mixture screws adjusted to smooth out idle, hood and trunk is shiny but not perfect. I even have the original 14" rally wheels for it instead of the 15" Torque Thruster wheels that are on it.”
$4,600

Not so much concerned with the engine and transmission, because I'll be putting my motor and transmission in it. Just want a good body and interior.

I like the cutlass, lowest miles, 2 sets of wheels. If you don't like the torque thrust wheels you can sell them for a good price. I like the looks of the Cutlass better anyway, would make a nice 442 or H/O clone.

Both the 85 monte and 85 cutty look nice. personally i would go for the cutty but thats me, plus it has decent wheels already.

I agree with the first 2 guys. I like the cutlass better even though I'm a Monte guy I like the looks of the Cutlass better especially with the wheels that are on it.Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck on your choice.

I'd go with the Cutlass. I think it would be a bigger bang for your buck.

Even though the Cutlass has less miles, I don't think it was treated as nice. By the pics he sent me, the carpet is kinda dirty and the seats are pretty worn. It will be a couple weeks till my dad can go check on out, but right now I gonna have him look at #2, unless I find something else I really like before then.
