Here's some pictures of a brand new retread truck tire I had put on the back of my work truck an F650, I went less than a 100 miles and about a 1/2 mile from my house it started riding rough and by the time I got it home it was shaking so bad I couldn't see anything in my driver's mirror because of the vibration.
I knew it wasn't a flat or loose lugnuts and when I got out of the truck just had to laugh when I saw the obvious problem.
The tire place ask me if I could make it to their shop about 10 miles away, I just laughed and said I don't think so.

wow, that's a nice bubble!
I remember, a few winters ago, we put on new'ish winter tires on our van. And we were parking in the garage at nights. A few weeks after newyear time, there were some cold nights, and the van developed a terrible vibration.

turns out, on warm days when the snow thawed, a little puddle of water would form in one little spot in the garage. And this is where one tire would land as you drove into the garage. And on one cold night, it froze with the tire and warped the steel belts, and made a bubble just like that!

You were lucky it happened close to the house but I hope you don't have the truck loaded. It's obvious you have a trained eye to be able to spot this problem...

I was actually gonna post a question about retreads today. Do you use retreads often ? I was going to buy some for my jeep. Purely off road use only except for the 5 mile drive to the off road park. I was concerned about a higher margin of defects.

years ago I used winter retreads every year and never had a problem. You can't find them anymore on this side of the border tho
