Delaware Black Tags?

When did the DE inspection expire?
I have no idea, would it say on the title? Or maybe on some documents in the glove box.

They don't have inspection stickers on the windshield in Delaware like they do here in Pennsylvania.

It will be on the title.

It will be on the title.

The registration expiration wouldn't be one the title. Maybe when it was titled.
Call Delaware motor vehicle to see if it is still registered.
If not, someone can request it, if they new the number, or it will be randomly given to someone registering a car.
With only 3 counties in Delaware, the 4 digit and now 5 digit tags are (were?) very collectible.
People don't have to like it or agree with it. People buy vanity tags every day. With the Delaware low digit tags, you just pay the usual fees.
I've had 5 digit tags but that was 30 years ago.
Now the 4 digits with a good year of a car you own would be even more valuable.....1969, 1955..etc..Good luck buying any of those.

I think 1-10 are government.
Technically you can only buy the tag with the car it is registered to.

DE has expiration date on title, right next to titled date.

Does it have an actual date?
All of my Delaware titles (copies of sold vehicles) have 00/00/000 in the "expiration date" spot.
Otherwise they would need to issue a new title whenever the tags expired.
They may have changed something since I left.

As far as the black porcelain tags, I think you could legally have any 4 digit Delaware tag that you have registered made into a black and/or porcelain plate.
I don't think the 5 digits would fit. This is what I recall anyway. It's been a while since I lived there.
