Like, from a Windex bottle, not a garden hose. Pistons don't like hydro-locking.

If you suspect it is indeed carbon build up -- a run of GM top engine cleaner prior to an oil change might be a good move. It burns off a lot of carbon in a smelly, smokey process. I've done it in the past with success

If you were closer, we could test my theory that a 267 has power output in the V6 territory! Slowest drag race ever.

That 7.9:1 3.8 shouldn't need 91 octane, and if it diesels on that, something isn't right. As mentioned, it seems to have carbon in the chamber causing hot spots.

I think I may just start out with a bottle of Techron, and see if that helps.
