All El Caminos got 7.5 or 7.625 rear end assemblys. Only way to know for sure on the gear ratio is to pull the cover and see what gears are in it. If you know for sure its 100% stock it could be anywhere between 2.14 to 2.56 gears.
 
2.41 conventional, non posi and yes, 7.5
 
My 78 Caballero had 2.73s from the factory.
 
Bar50 was that a special order cabby? Original size engine and transmission? From my experience that is not a common gear ratio to be used.

Jeff ...my 79 Royal Knight came with RPO code.. GU2 Rear Axle 2:73... right below that on the document I got from GM was... G92 Axle Performance Ratio.

That's good info. My old 79 ss had 2.56 open rear in it, the other el caminos I had before had 2.41 gears in them.
