Other than the injectors, what's the difference between these motors? I believe the heads are also different but what about the crank/emission parts etc....

external, nothing except injector size. The same setup was used on both engines. Internal the 305 and 350 had different heads, crank, bore size, pistons, cam. Just like any 305 to 350 comparison. What are you trying to do?

I'm going to be picking up a parts car which is an 85 Iroc 305 Tpi and have that motor built to a 355 with the 350 heads etc... I will be using the wire harness, trans, motor, ecu and complete intake mani. Of course ported.

Just for info, the '85 was a "b*st*rd" year for the ECM. It has a daughterboard attached to the side of the ECM, and is known to be flaky. I believe you can re-wire the harness and connectors for an '86 up ECM. You will need new injectors for the 350, along with a new Knock Sensor and a 350 ESC module. You can get by with the 305 stuff ( excluding the injectors), but it runs better with the right parts. Lots of info / spreadsheets /links on my website.

Lol not exactly, just very new to American Muscle and enjoying every learning moment. That being said, I picked up an 85 I-Roc parts car today and swapped out the ugly Daytons the Cutlass came with. Now the Cutlass has some nice, shiny, chrome 16 inch I-Rocs🙂 Will definitely post pics tomorrow, finished late due to having to hammer the Daytons off and on. My only problem is the rear wheels rub the frame. The tires are 245/45/16. Would a 1 inch spacer fix this or can I settle for a 1/4 inch spacer?

Here's a pic of the parts car. What's weird is Wiki says 85 didn't come with a 5.7 but the rear bumper says 5.7 Tpi and the motor had a maf, instead of a map, also according to Wiki.

Are you going to do a build thread?

Wiki is not a good source of info....

The 5.7 TPI was an option for the IROC and Z28 packages only in 1985
