Distributoe wiring?

I just pulled the motor out of my cutlass. Its a chevy 350 & im wondering does these wires supposed to be crossed like this...

I'm pretty sure it didn't come from the dealership like that. You should check AutoZone.com, under wiring schematics in the Repair section.

When i first got my regal, when it still had the stock 307, a friend who was a mechanic jumped the wires on mine exactly like that, it gave it more power somehow,very noticeable, i have no idea what it did though

Probably by passed the spark control maybe?

That might be to eliminate the step-down from 12 volts, to 9.6 to the ignition module, like a ballast resister. Not sure, but I'll bet that's the reason for the splice. ..............mickey-d :lol:

I just did a google search and that is a shade tree hack for by-passing a EST module.
