Distributoe wiring?

I just pulled the motor out of my cutlass. Its a chevy 350 & im wondering does these wires supposed to be crossed like this...

I'm pretty sure it didn't come from the dealership like that. :rofl: You should check AutoZone.com, under wiring schematics in the Repair section.
 
When i first got my regal, when it still had the stock 307, a friend who was a mechanic jumped the wires on mine exactly like that, it gave it more power somehow,very noticeable, i have no idea what it did though
 
what i dont like is that BIG *ss CHUNK missing from the rotor!
 
That might be to eliminate the step-down from 12 volts, to 9.6 to the ignition module, like a ballast resister. Not sure, but I'll bet that's the reason for the splice. ..............mickey-d :lol:

I just did a google search and that is a shade tree hack for by-passing a EST module.
