Distributor for 305 sbc

Can anyone recommend a good cheap distributor for my 85 grand prix 305 V8. I am switching the carb over to an edelbrock-1406 and switching to an edelbrock performer intake when i get my income tax check. What distributor would i need since im getting rid of the computer carb.

A stock '79 and older HEI from a SBC should be fine. Just find a good used unit, clean it and replace the tune up parts, and you should be golden. Be sure to use a coil with red and yellow wires, these are pre-ECM units.

go to jegs any distributer " hei, and for small block will work" thair 99 bucks thats what my buddie is running on his lt4 monte, but i spent the xtra money and bought a mallory distributer but i think it was worth it

didnt pay attention to the time i just look throught the fourm once a week normaly after a 10 hour day at work im not on my a game at that point
