A while back i put a 307 olds motor in my regal when the v6 went out i put a pre computer quadrajet on it so dosent need the connectors on my carb but the distributor isint connected because the computer in regal was for a 3.8 buick so with the distributor not plug in is my motor not gona run the best it can run? So do i need to get a computer from a 307 car or put a distributor with a vaccum on it or just leave it unplugged?

Not sure about the olds but on the computer controlled Chevrolet distributor there is no mechanical or vacuum advance it was all controlled by the computer. My sbc is currently running like yours and it runs ok but has low power because it stays at initial timing no matter what rpm or load.

You can pop the cap and see if yours has mechanical advance or not. You need a non computer controlled distributor to run properly.
