Distributor ??

I got a sweet deal on a MSD 6A and Blaster Coil 3. My stock distributor doesnt have a 9th spot to connect the plug from the coil.like this one it only has 8 hook ups

Can I put a MSD cap on my stock distributor. They have 9 hook ups.

You'll need an adapter/ cap that screws on to your existing distributor cap. It has the connection for your external coil.

It sounds as if you have an HEI distributer which has a built-in coil in the top and there should be a cover over the top that holds it in place. The msd cap with the extra port in the center is to hook up the external blaster coil. There are kits you can buy as the prev person mentioned to change your factory HEI distributer to except the external blaster coil and ignition box. But, Depending on your setup and what kind of performance your looking for and by the time you invest your money in your worn factory distributer to convert it.You may be better off just buying the aftermarket distributer. It could just save you less headaces in the long run. But yes the msd 6a boxes are very nice upgrades from stock it will give you better and hotter spark and burn fuel more efficiantly
