Hi there, I'm just curious about this Edelbrock E-Street EFI setup. Does it work? http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/mc/efi/e-street.shtml I know Edelbrock is cheap, and can be more of a stock replacement than high performance on some of their products, But is this EFI setup trustworthy? The advertisements all make it seem so easy, just a bolt on fuel injection, but I know there has to be a lot more to it. I'm not really interested in using it currently, but it's more just something to keep in the back of my mind if I would ever need/want it. Any information is great, Thanks.

It was on my radar. I really liked it with the wireless tablet so I cloud loose the look for classic shows but I didn't like the fuel system too incomplete on a sense to me. Mind you this was Dec of 2013.

My choice was clearly made for a couple of reasons. I was torn between the edelbrock and fast ez 2.0. Fast won. Reason being; they've been in the bolt on efi game longer. All major components carry a lifetime warranty. Edelbrock is a 1 year only. I wanted to integrate ignition, fast gave me the ability. Also their fuel system was available with an Intank pump which if I was hlgoung to do it right which meant swapping in a grand national tank to prevent pump starvation.

What I ended up with is the fast ez efi 2.0, fast dual sync distributor and there complete ignition box and coil. I read alot of issues with msd boxes and rfi noise so I sold it all and run 1 completely integrated system. I haven't had any issues . It's been a pleasure to say the least.

The big thing is yes it's easy to get plumbed in and running but it takes a little more to get it running at its peak. With any engine whether you integrate ignition or not you must understand timing and it's role in how things run. Fuel and ignition go hand in hand. You change one aspect and you may have to change another. Additionally you still have to control the fuel ratios at wot, cruise and idle out of the box things are set extremely rich. This is to prevent you from burning up your motor from a lean condition. So it will run but not as good as it can as the computer only adjusts things to hit a desired target fuel ratio. So it'ds up to you to find ld what the motor wants. So yiu must be able to understand what the motor likes and doesnt. It's a nice system for sure and greatly improved drive ability and mileage, that is if I can keep my foot out of it

Oh yeah and on the fast you can disconnect the handheld once you set it for a clean look if you so wish. I don't as I prefer to monitor my perameters.

Sorry for the spelling I'm on my oh so smart phone

Personally, I'd rather go with a non-cc quadrajet or a stock GM TPI setup from an F or Y body car. For the money spent on the over priced Edelbrock TPI you can put it towards either a FAST XFI setup or Megasquirt. I think the best bang for the buck is FAST XFI and a good dyno tuner.

My 2¢
