Just wondering what kind of history was on my Buick I ran a car fax.

Seems my 1984 Regal was in a wreck in Atlanta. Front engine damaged.
Then me wanting to dig deeper I noticed it has a 1983 Header pannel on an 1984 car. LOL

I cant wait to find out more.

LOL

I ran a CarFax on my '83 Cutlass back in '06 and learned that it was wrecked and totaled back in '88. It had just been getting passed around until I got it, but no one had fixed the damage. Someone did drop a Olds 403 in it though, which I sold for $180.

i ran a carfax on my 87, and i wasn't too upset haha, im the 3rd owner and it started out in florida then the same owner took it to virgina, in between there it was unregistared for a few years so i assumed the stored it, then the guy i bought it from bought it and took it here to wisconsin in 05 then i bought it in 07. it has 200,000 miles on the body (explains the cracked paint) haha and somewhere in there the original trans, and engine disapeared

I ran one before I bought my 84 Regal in January just for smits and jiggles. It was supposedly the typical Grandma car. She bought it new, put 62,000 miles on it, died and left it to her grandson who wanted something newer a few years ago after putting another 4k on it. Lo and behold it checked out. I was on the fence before I saw it and it helped put me over the edge. I even found some chochkies in it from gramma... Yanking interiors is like a treasure hunt!

I just had a report done on my 86 Cutlass. I'm the 6th owner, and on October 10, 1999, it was in an accident in Ft. Madison, IA, but no frame damage was reported, so it is still a clean title

word of advice .... don't trust Car Fax, their information is HORRIBLY incomplete. They didn't list several owner's of my 86, I can not seem to convince them my 87 was stolen (it comes up as a clean title), and they are missing 1 registerred owner of the 81 (not only do I have every maintence receipt for 3 owners, I have titles and plate applications).
Now I live in Missouri where CARFAX is located ... they told me. the state of Missouri makes them pay for every vehicle record so they don't even check THIS state! Since stolen cars are FEDERAL, guess they don't check with DC either.

jeez you can't trust anyone these days

probably every 6 months or so, one of the St Louis news agencies will run something on CARFAX and yet EVERY dealer in the area uses them for used cars, and the same TV stations have no issues collecting on the CARFAX commercials they air.
