Is there a trick to removing all of the sticky gooey stuff left behind after you take off the door bumper strips?
would a heat gun work, or is there a chemical i can use like wd-40?
not wrecking the paint would be good. thanks.

A rag soaked in acetone works quite well, although it will harm the paint if left on too long.

Use 3M adheisive cleaner and a rag.

They also sell eraser wheels that mount to a drill and will rub off the leftover goo without harming the paint.

Then just give it a quick polish and it's like they were never there...

i used wd-40. a little elbow grease was involved, just not so much that you leave scratches in the paint.

be very careful with the eraser wheel I burned some clear on my wifes Yukon with it but the 3m stuff works great

I used generic stuff called quick clean. man it worked good, as soon as you sprayed the old adhesive, you could basically just wipe it off. no stickyness

alright thanks,
i'll have to keep an eye out for that 3m stuff and that quick clean next time i'm out. Do they come in spray cans or spray bottles?

Eraser wheel will burn right through the original lacquer used on many of the G bodies....

Never had a problem on clearcoat...unless it was a not-cured refinish.
