ok, so my left side door won't shut right. it's not the door pins or hinges cuz the door is not sagging. it's hitting the door striker and causing a lil stress crack on the door pilar near the striker. I moved the striker down and i thought i fixed it but it's doing the same. I looked at the latch and it looks like it's been damaged. do i just need a new latch?

Try lubing the latch up to see if it helps.

Another problem could be the crack you mentioned near the striker. If it's hitting the striker wrong, it'll put stress on the jamb area, and the striker will be able to move, making it harder for the latch to catch.

Your latch could be sprung. I had a similar problem about 12 years ago and that is what it was.
