Hey guys;
As an owner of an '82 Trans-am, i'm familiar with GM heavy 2 door cars from the '80s.

So is the cure similar to the trans-am? ie, Can I just buy a "HELP" brand door pin(s) kit and install the pin and bushings ($10 or whatever) and be cured and happy? Or am I stuck buying new hinge mechanisms?

Thanks

if its door sag you most likely need new hinges, if its just squeaky and hard to close/ open you can just replace the pins/bushings.

Well, it's hard to close (slammy time eh?). I'll try new pins first and go from there.
Thanks

New pins/bushings should so the trick. Just had a friend of mine replace them on my brother's '81. His driver door was sagging making it hard to close. You pretty much had to lift the door as you closed it to get it to shut properly.

The new hinge pins/bushings out of the HELP section took care of it.

Ok, going to do this now. Is the best way to go about doing this:

- Use an engine crane to hold door up
- Unbolt hinges from body of car.
- Move door outwards slightly
- Remove hinges from car door.
- Cut off and remove pins, replace pins
- Bolt new hinge back on door
- Bolt hinge (door attached) back to body of car

and i'm done?

Don't have an air compressor, or an air gun.

Is my easiest bet then removing the door, such that I can "re-pin" the hinge on my work bench, using my vice, angle grinder, etc etc?

Yea, got a hammer. I can just support the door with some rope from my hoist and knock off the pin, and replace?

What's the tool, a chisel??
