door striker!

i just noticed on my 86 442 that the metal around the drivers door striker is cracked,is this a common thing?any recomendations for a fix?thanks

It is sadly pretty common. Knock on wood it hasn't happened to mine yet, but this is the fix for it I know of.

thanks.that looks like it would work and could probably be made in my garage for alot less money.
