I got some ebay door weather stripping and it was an epic failure. The upper door jamb pockets were moulded incorrectly and the door won’t shut. Unusable. I see a couple options on rock auto. Probably should have tried there first. Wondering if you guys have any recommendations. Would like to keep it budget friendly if possible.

No name as far as i can tell. A seller that goes by cx_automaster . They were very dense and a lot thicker in areas that the oe ones were not
outside of an O.E source they're all a crapshoot, but i think(just my.02) the offshore no names are worse than the larger known names like softseal-metro etc.props to you for getting the doors/nose squared away before hand, that way ill fitting weatherstripping doesn't sway you to think something's out of alignment.when it's actually the 'stripping itself.people will attempt to make it all happen at the same time and it can get ugly. A lot of tail chasing ensues going that route.

Metro is an offered through RA. Maybe I’ll give them a shot. Fairchild is another one. Are they any good? Here is the door now.

Fairchild is…. Ok. I used them to replace the SoftSeal seals on the driver’s side of my car since those started to tear after no real use.
The door seal had to be stretched about 1/2 an inch to fit, and the window seal was way better than the SoftSeal one but the upper rear corner was flatter. It currently doesn’t seal, but a small push outwards should fix that.

Steele is supposed to be the best in the business, I’ll be going with those if the Fairchild’s fail like the SoftSeals. Pricy though.

Is Fairchild or Metro reinforced in any way where the screws go?

Only NOS GM weatherstripping fits correctly. None of the aftermarket upper door seals are constructed correctly. The aftermarket seals were made cheaper to undersell the GM seals back when they were still being made. Most aftermarket replacement parts are cheaply made and only intended to keep a working Joe's jaloplpy operational a little longer, not to restore it back to perfect working order like OEM parts.
