Actually, I can get a 960 too. I will get both and try them on. Whichever looks right, I will go with.

Oh and mounting the sbc brackets all the way back against the block gave the two fingers of clearance mentioned for the power steering pulley.

I picked up a Continental 96" and 96.7" belt. They have two sets of numbers, which is confusing. I would not go less than a 96" belt, honestly not much different than the 95" for tension. I like how the 96.7" belt is for tension, hopefully it will stay that way after break in. All the accessories turn nice and smooth, alternator is still squeaky but not rough.

I also need a selector shaft seal, second 2004R had that happen to. That is the main leak on my 2004R and they have it in stock.

Well the belt setup sounds like it is supercharged. It can't see contact anywhere and the belt has stayed in place. Everything turned nice and smooth individually. Next will be installing the A/C lines and charging it.

I threw out my old accumulator and pretty sure I threw out the old pressure switch. Can I run temporarily without one? I also need a pic of the line routing. Mine is is the compressor off a 94 1/2 ton, one of it's ine and the other off the 94. I put in a new adjustable orfice tube, blew out the lines and replaced all the o rings.

There is a single connection on the back of the compressor as well as the clutch connection and a switch in the line off the compressor. I assume that is the pressure cut off switch but I need a connector to fit it. Also the clutch connection has two whit wires. Need to see which is power and ground.

I think other than charging the A/C and installing the new cycling switch when it comes, the A/C will be ready to go. The belt is now quieter for some reason, still can't see any contact spots. It got up around 195 on a highway drive and stayed there. I have the fans on constant low speed with key on, the alternator sits at 14.5 volts and idle in park. I retarded the timing a few degrees, it was hitting against the starter. I bumped the idle up to 1000 rpm was around 800 rpm in park. The idle in gear drops to around 500 rpm and is unstable. I need to play with the mixture screws and put a timing marker and my light on it. The acceleration is okay, not sure if the lock up is working. I have had to play with the linkage a few times since changing the selector seal, still barely get park. Maybe I unplugged the the connector, the TCI vacuum switch is right there.

Finally have a timing marker on but my dial back light is acting up. Man does this 260 like timing. It had to be around 30 base with the vacuum advance disconnected at 800 rpm. I advanced it a couple more degrees, ran better. Also fixed the the one signal light wire and replaced both bulbs, were burnt out on the driver's side. I also fixed it so all three speakers work in the stereo. I found the A/C pressure cycling switch but will put on the new one.
