Here's how I came to my conclusion... I used 1.1 for trans ratio to account for 10% converter slippage. 136mph is an average trap speed of a 9.90 car....
Nitrous car - I wouldn't go any lower gear than 3.73. 3.42's wouldn't be a deal breaker IMO.
Of course I'm no expert, but the nitrous get's it off the line and the taller gear gets you down the track. Traction and stall setups will be your challenge.
