my question is ? has anyone used g-force drag radials on their car? i haven't been able to find any info on tire pressure? can you go to low? :?

have you used any kind of slick's on your car at all?

anybody?

I have used M&H and Nitto drag radials and have been pleased. I have not been impressed with the BFGs except at the track. Did not know the g-force stuff came in sizes we would be interested in. Thought they were just for the smaller front wheel drive stuff. MTs seem to be like the BFGs good at the track but don't last and terrible in any rain on the street.

yeah,my g-force radials are 275-60-15 with a 11.1 section width and 28 inch's tall, they look pretty big to me. the thing is i'am just not used to slick's last year my old 350 was running 12.90's at 104 mph with a 1.80 60ft i had 18 psi in the tires,it felt good out of the hole,as you know i wasn't satisfied 😀 i installed a dual stage nos 😀 first time out with 16 psi i pulled a 12.33 at 108mph and 1.70 60ft so i go to 14 psi it runs 12.22 at 109 and1.69 60ft but a 100 shot was to much for my old 350 🙁 needless to say i needed a new motor. i bought a 383 from cnc-motorsport's it's got a forged eagle crank forged eagle h-beam rod's and11.0 forged piston's all balanced and blue printed after a short break-in i ran it again this time i droped the tires to 12 psi,it ran a 12.62 at 109 mph with a 1.90 60 ft the tire's were hopping all the way through first gear this was on the motor only, my question is can you let to much air out? the motor was running lean so ionly made a few pass's i rejetted the carb and stuff.i'am going to run it next weekend 😀 i quess i'll start at 16 psi thank's for your reply

Yes you can let too much out and it happens much quicker on a radial than a regular slick.

On a back street stomp it from a roll or if it won't just light em from a stop then roll out. Go back and evaluate your tracks. At ideal pressure you will have a wide even patch just as dark and solid on the edges as in the center. Overfull might be darker in the center too low will be darker on the edges and light in the center. Don't let off let the car hook when it will then pay particular attention to where it hooks as it will be the easiest place to tell. The less wheel speed the more accurate so if you can get it to hook in first even if your easing off the throtle thats ideal.

Never seen anybody use a locker and an overdrive transmission together. Do you actually drive this on the street much and if so is the locker noisy or a pain? Both my G-bodys run about a 110mph in 1/4 and I use 275/60s on one and 275/50s on the other both on 15x8s. I have 60d all over usually 1.7 or 1.8 but never used spray just pumpgas. I would like to ventue into spray just to collect a slip but I'm probably better off not to as the GN motor has never been apart and the Cad motor is mostly a stock rebuild with stock rods & cast pistons. BTW I usually run 18 psi at the track with the Nitto takeing more burnout to get warm & sticky. Oh yea you can also paint a white stripe and have somebody cam cord you as with the added torque of the 383 you might be turning em a bit at the line. Are you spraying it after you leave the hole?

thanks for the info on the tire's i'll give it a try as soon as it dries up out here, it just happens that i live on a dead end street that they repaved last year.heheh  as for the locker you'll never have as much fun with any new part you can put on your car!!!! at first it'll unlock all the time and scare you when it relock's it feel's like you broke something in your diff!! you won't be leave the noise it make's when it lock's after a while it does'nt unlock as much. before i had a heart attack in 05 i drove my ss every day!!! my car has a least 300,000 miles on it and i've put every one on it myself 😀 i'am not going to hit this new motor until i can figure out why it put a hole in #7 i has to be lean to do that i think? as for coming out i stall to 2000 and flash the converter with the petal to the floor  the nos is on the throttle at wide open giving me a 75 shot after i get to third gear i hit the button on my shifter for second stage which gives me a 100 shot the system works off relays when you hit second stage --firststage shut's off...this system gives you the abilty to mix any combo up to a 250 shot!!!! my short block is able to handle 750 horse power they told me that with my combo that a 250 shot was no problem 😀 hehehe i can't wait to get all the little bugs out
