What would I have to do if I wanted to eliminate the drip rails on a 1982 Regal?

I do have the trim off but I want to cut it back and smooth the roof lines out.

That lip is where the roof skin attaches to the skeleton of the car.

You'll need to cut it off flush, and then weld up where it was.

That's what I figured. It is probably not worth the trouble then.

I wouldn't do it. The way the car is set up you will get water leaks in the car if you do it.

as stated above, cut, then weld, as long as youve got good seals, water wouldnt be an issue, and, itll clean the car up a ton, you could always paint match the trim, itll make the drip rail blend in much better.
