hey fellas,

i installed a sbc 350 with a 700r4 trans last year into my 81 olds cutlass calais.

i know, i know...... i had a couple different olds engines installed over the years but had this sbc engine sittin here for several years. got it rebuilt, so it's fresh and ready. got it and a 700r4 bolted in but need a drive shaft.

anyone know of a shaft that will work without cuttin one to fit? i gotta buddy that has access to a wrecking yard, so gettin a part should not be a problem. i just need to know what i am lookin for.

this is how she sits now..

sonn as i get a drive shaft figured out, i will get more motivated to finish it up and drive it. i have owned this car for 25 yrs.... and am really lookin forward to driving it again.

thanks for any help here.

i got one i no longer need, bought it from a guy a while back, custom cut rebalanced and painted, only deal is its a snug fit, it works but its a snug tight fit, shoulda been cut maybe another inch but it works i used it once then the 700r4 i had in it went out, crapy used god knows if it works trans yeah...

I've got a driveshaft from my similar setup (LT1/700r4) if you still need it. It's never been used, and fits just fine with the stock 7.5 10bolt rear end. I switched rear end so I would need to pay to get it shortened again and I was thinking of going with an Aluminum one anyway.

It cost me $130 to shorten and put new U-joints in. I'll let it go for $80 + shipping (probably around $20 but I'll check). Where are you located?
