Drive shaft question

I am building a 87 grand prix and i pulled out a chevy 350 with a 2004r transmission and i will be putting in a th350 i just picked up a used drive shaft that came out of a g body race car and there is about a 1 to 2 inch difference in length should they be the same or which drive shaft should i use?

If the TH350 is a short tail you need the longer driveshaft

What lenth is the TH350 tail housing? If I remember & seen on different post there are 3 different tail housing lenths for 2wd units.

Also the trans-mount location is roughly 6 inches farther rearward on the 2004r than for a TH350 using the same-style trans mount.

So your x-member location is not correct

how do i bolt up the new transmission to fit the x member

The chassis mount locations and the x-members are different on the drivers side on cars that came with 2004r's than the cars that came with the TH350.
