What would be the best way for me to mount and use a 2nd alternator? What pieces would I need to mount it on the drivers side?

It would help to know what engine you're talking about. In any case, Chevy trucks used for HD applications (like ambulances) had a dual alternator option. Try to find those brackets. As for the best way to use a second alternator, ballast comes to mind. Seriously, why go through all the hassle to mount two? Just replace you current alternator with a higher output unit.

X2 on the previous post. Update youres to a bigger more amp alternater cause unless you are produce serious amp witdrawls like a 3000w stereo or video then you won't need it but if you insist on doing it the 99 tahoe/suburbans have dual setups you can pull it off that

Its for my 454 in my Monte.I have 6- 12 inch subs and 6-6x9's, and 10 4 inch speakers in my car. I have yet to wire them to my 4000 watt amp. I already have an 100 amp alternator I just want to be safe. I dont want to have my loud music playing and then the car just shuts down while speeding on I-75. Thats not a good feeling.

So upgrade to a CS144. They came in 140 amp versions stock. Alternately (pun not intended) you can get an SI27 truck alternator.
