Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner

Hey im looking into getting a Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner for my my car. will any old Dual Snorkel air cleaner fit around my carb, or would it be easyier to to just make one out of two stock air cleaners?

Any factory air cleaner made to fit a Qjet will on the carb but the snorkels are another story. They can have clearance issues with the AC or alternator depending on the setup and what setup the air cleaner was made for. If you make your own, you can just take a single snorkel air cleaner that you know fits and add on another snorkel in a location that won't interfere with anything. Don't be suprised if the finished product looks a bit 'off' though, since the extra snorkel you added on may be at a weird angle compared to the stock one.

As DoubleV has said, you could fabricate an air cleaner to suit your needs, but you'll probably end up with something that doesn't look completely symetrical. I made one for my Monte years ago. It had the original snorkel on the passenger side, then the snorkel on the driver's side had to be shortened and installed on a bit different angle to come out between the A/C compressor and the end of the brake master cylinder. When I installed the serpentine setup on the car, I couldn't use the dual snorkel setup, and ended up going back to a single snorkel, with the snorkel coming out on the driver's side. Good luck.

The one in your picture I believe is from an 83 to 85 Z28,my brother put that setup on his 79 el camino & it worked fine with no issues

Take a look at one from a 70 Z28. I have it on my 71 442 and it looks right at home.
