hey guys,

I pulled a DualJet carb off my 85 cutlass v6 and the carb base gasket has 2 electrical leads to it. Where do I get a new one and what is the official name?

Thanks!

I think it is part of the "EFE" (Early Fuel Evaporation?) system, but I am not sure. When I had a V6 in mine I just removed it and used a normal gasket.

They are called EFE Gaskets (Or EFE Heaters) and aren't cheap. I would just throw a regular base gasket on it and call it good unless you are willing to pay $40+ for a new EFE Gasket.

They basically will just warm up the fuel/air to help the vaporization of it and to help emissions, but it's only used in cold conditions when the choke is running the mixture leaner.
