Well I got the Lemans out of the weeds and its time to come to a decision on what I'm gonna do with it. Obviously its getting rebuilt, but i can't decide between F.I. or carb, or how much power and C.I. I really need. Also anyone know if I can plastic weld the busted bumper cover back together. Pics included hopefully.

That would be totally awesome but i do not have the cash flow for that right now. Was hoping I could get it fixed on my own but I will definitely keep that in mind.

You could try some of that plastic bumper repair. Some walmarts carry it & about any auto body supply store would carry it

Thats a pretty fat gap, fiberglass would probably be the best way. May be easier to cut even more off to make a simpler patch.

I'm no expert but I think I've read that fiberglass does not bond well with plastic. Correct me if I'm Wrong anyone.

You are not wrong, plastic is very flexible and fiberglass is not. A plastic repair with fiberglass wouldnt even last to put it back on the car. 3M makes the best plastic repair products made but all the quality glues require a special gun and mixing tip to apply it, some auto body supply places will loan the gun out with a deposit (it's a $350 gun) or maybe just have a body shop do the repair up to primer and you could take over from there, it wouldn't be that much in labor and as long as you use a reputable shop you could trust the repair is done right

Thanks for all the info guys and its really not a big gap thats just me pulling it out. It just cracked there and came apart I wondered if there was an adhesive I could use I just didn't wanna be like I can put it together with super glue, didn't wanna be that guy. Anyways I will try to contact a body shop as soon as I can get my VW settled with the insurance company.

My bumper was completely broken. I taped it back together and put fiberglass mat an resin on the backside. It was decent. On the front used 3M plastic bumper repair. That stuff sucks. It didn't get down into the crack at all. And after sanding to smooth it out, it just completely fell apart. On the other side my bumper was missing a corner and I used resin and mat, to make a nice factory corner. That worked well. I ended up havering my dad bring it to the body shop at work so he can fix the crack, and spray it black.
