Just looking tor some information from anyone who has had experience with EBC brake pads. I'm looking to upgrade the front brakes on my Chev Cobalt, which is my daily driver. I've been trying to get a kit with the EBC green stuff pads, but I'm told by the supplier that I'm dealing with that they're out of the green stuff pads for 2-3 months for my car. I can go another step up to the yellow stuff pads, which are available for my car, but I'm curious if there's any down side to using these pads on a daily driver vehicle. I drive in and out of Toronto on a busy highway 5 days a week, and I put approximately 1,000kms (about 600 miles) on the car every week. Any information or insight is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have used EBC for about 6 years and they have saved me some body work. I have used the green and about 2 years ago they recommended the yellow for the G body. The difference between the two is the yellow likes to have a bit of heat to work really well but when they are hot they really grab. It doesn't take much to heat them up and even when cold I can lock up the wheels, just takes a bit more pressure. I never had a problem with the greens fading and the yellows don't fade either. When you put them on make sure you break them in properly and they'll work great and last longer. Both colors have brake dust but nothing major.

i too have ran ebc green stuff pads on my 02 blazer xtreme for almost 6years. nwver an issue. i tried some hawk pads once i hated them with a passion. took so much to heat up and get to work. i think they lasted 2 weeks and i caved i went right back to ebc greens.

I buy cheap ceramic pads from Rockauto and call it good. The $20 set I bought for my '90 miata will put you through the windshield. Maybe you'll get a bad set but so far I'm 5 cars for 5 cars. Good braking, no dust.

I have name brand street/track pads on my Brembo Mustang, because the factory pads dusted the wheels in a day and I would do anything at the time to stop having to clean the wheels daily.

Love EBC pads Ran Green stuff on daily drivers for years. Great bite, no fade. Get the part number and search Amazon, sometimes you get them cheaper that way.
